The Urban Village ConceptLATEST NEWS! The CLP Research Project 2010 - Phase 1 is currently being undertaken by Resolution Consulting Services. This research will provide important information for CLP to use in it's business plan.
The village proposed by the families and supporters of CLP will consist of a variety of separate buildings or residences, including hostel-type units for people with high level needs, and will have the capacity to provide respite care as well; a number of dwellings where people who are more independent will live with appropriate levels of care and supervision, and smaller units for more independent residents including couples. In addition, there will be a number of freestanding units/houses for purchase or rental by community members without a disability. The design of these would be the same as in any other residential suburb. Altogether, it is expected the village will cater for between 70 and 100 residents, with a mix of people with and without disabilities.
